Big Apple Blossomtime Weekend

Lots of exciting events around Putley and beyond, so do look at the Big Apple website too!

A full time table for our orchard events is coming soon, but will include:

Stewart Read of Thomas Too Apiary, will be here both Sunday and Monday for demonstrations on bee keeping, bringing a live hive (Sunday only), and available to answer your bee-related queries!

Belly dancing - a return of last years colourful belly dancing troupe.

Willow sculptures in the orchard - wassailing figures from local artist Victoria Westaway.

We will be offering self guided orchard walks, and tastings or our range of cider and perry.

Sunday evening 7pm - Launch of the Three Counties Cider Shop "Cider Club"  - Launching as part of The Crown Inn's Real Ale and Cider Festival with live bands, pig roast and a wide choice of local ciders!

Big Apple Blossomtime Weekend
6th & 7th May

So much going on in the Parish this weekend, but here are a few highlights!

SUNDAY 6th May

12 noon – Bellydancing at Dragon Orchard – the weather forecast seems to be improving, so we're anticipating a colourful display against the backdrop of the blossom.

12.30 onwards – lunches will be available at Aylton Court Farm.

1pm – The Torn Cloud - performing their own folk-influenced songs and covers at Dragon Orchard - see more on their website for an idea of what they sound like.

1:30pm - Mr Someone - Local bank playing Jazz and Lounge music - perfect accompaniment to a glass of cider!

2pm – 6pm - Cider & Perry tastings at Putley Village Hall

2pm – Mr P's Bees will be here at the orchard again, demonstrating the basics of beekeeping

3pm – The Torn Cloud - a second set with songs from their debut album "Front Doors" at Dragon Orchard

MONDAY 7th May

11am – The Torn Cloud - We're lucky to get them back for a second day at Dragon Orchard!

12.00 onwards – lunches will be available at Putley Village Hall

12-5pm – Cider & Perry tastings at Putley Village Hall

1pm & 2pm The Not So Big Band – The band was formed in 2010 at St. Mary's RC High School, Lugwardine. Since then the band has played at events like the Upton Jazz Festival, Best of Young Jazz. The band consists of 6 members ages 12-15, playing classic jazz tracks as well as their own compostions. At Dragon Orchard.

3pm – Morris Dancing at Putley Village Hall

And of course our Once Upon a Tree shop will be open for tastings and perry, cider & apple juice sales!
